Have you ever wondered how it is that there are always candidates to vote for at election times? When you receive a leaflet through your door from the Conservatives, do you know who delivered it, how it was paid for or who organised it?
The answer may come as a surprise. The Conservative Party here in Reading East is entirely organised and paid for by local people – volunteers, perhaps your neighbours, who feel strongly enough about what they believe that they are prepared to give up their spare time and help raise money to pay for the Conservative message to be heard in Reading.
The Conservative's vision is of a country where people have more opportunity and power over their lives; a country where families are stronger and society is more responsible; a Britain which is safer and greener.
David Cameron's priorities are to rebuild our battered economy, revive our beleaguered NHS and repair our broken society.
Reading East Conservatives believe that David Cameron has turned the Conservative Party around. He has helped to create a Party that is ready to govern properly again and will be honest with people – no false promises and no spin.
Conservative MP for Reading East Rob Wilson has earned the respect of people in Reading for his hard work and straightforward approach. He has also never claimed a second home allowance and commutes daily to Westminster from Reading.
Cllr Andrew Cumpsty and our team of Conservative councillors on Reading Borough Council have formed a coalition with the Liberal Democrat councillors to take control of the Council and to deliver desperately needed change and improvement in services. We believe that the people of Reading want an effective council focused on the needs of residents, offering better value for money and a commonsense approach to local government.
